Who we are

Equipo Tandem Films

Based in Madrid, Tandem Films will act as a bridge between Latin America and Europe, developing and producing projects with ambition to reach out at the international market. We are a company interested in modern storytelling and strong, relevant characters, with the vision to create timeless audiovisual fiction.

 

The company was founded by producers Pablo Bossi and Cristina Zumárraga, who bring a combined experience of decades in the international co-production market and especially upscale projects. Tandem Films produces fiction films, animation and TV series for a global audience.

 

Tandem Films is keen on venturing in search of true talents, inside and outside our borders, so each project provides a rich and singular outlook.

Cristina Zumárraga

Producer

Cristina Zumárraga is an award-winning producer working at the forefront of most prestigious national and international films.

 

With a long trajectory expanding over 25 years and more than 30 films, as Production Manager, Line Producer, Executive Producer and Producer, some of her selected filmography includes work alongside world renowned directors such as Julio Medem (Room in Rome), Iciar Bollain (In A Foreign Land, Olive Tree, Even the Rain), Patricia Ferreira (Thi Mai), Oliver Stone (Persona Non Grata; Looking for Fidel), Steven Soderbergh (Che: The Argentine Part 1 and Guerrilla Part 2); Hugh Hudson (Altamira) and Wim Wenders (Submergence) to name a few.

 

She has received two Goya Awards for Best Production for Even the Rain starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Luis Tosar (Iciar Bollain, 2011) and Alatriste starring Viggo Mortensen and Ariadna Gil (Agustin Diaz Llanes, 2007). She has also been nominated in other three occasions.

 

She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain, of AMA (Madrid Audiovisual Association), of ACE Producers Network and of EPC (European Producers Club). She regularly collaborates with the initiative CIMA Mentoring, an association of women audiovisual professionals mentoring female authors.

 

As CEO and founder of TORMENTA FILMS, Cristina produced the award winning Operation E directed by Miguel Courtois, with Luis Tosar and Martina García (San Sebastian Film Festival among dozens of festivals worldwide), the documentary In a Foreign Land directed by Iciar Bollain, and The Warning directed by Daniel Calparsoro, with Raúl Arévalo and Aura Garrido.

Pablo Bossi

Producer

Founder of the production companies Patagonik Films and Pampa Films, Pablo E. Bossi has produced in Argentina more than 50 feature films, including some of the most notable titles in Argentinean Cinema such as Nine Queens, Son of the Bride, Kamchatka or Chinese Take-Away, and also some very successful animation films such as Patoruzito or The Hairy Tooth Fairy. Most of these titles were by co-producing with international partners, and were sold to many territories, with extraordinary critical reception and success at the box office.

 

He was a founding partner of the Argentina Federation of Producers and of the National Academy of the Cinema Arts and Sciences, which he presided between 2006 and 2010.

 

Set at Madrid from 2012, leading a local production team, he created the production company Gloriamundi Producciones, with the aim of combining the talent and trends in both Spain and Argentina, in order to produce audiovisual works with high quality, able to travel, addressing the most demanding audience.

 

In these years, he has produced Koblic, by Sebastián Borensztein, with Ricardo Darín, Inma Cuesta and Oscar Martínez; Tini, the movie, by Juan Pablo Buscarini, with Martina Stoessel, Ángela Molina y Jorge Blanco; and Pray for me (Pope Francis’ biopic), by Beda Docampo Feijoo, with Dario Grandinetti and Silvia Abascal.

 

His most recent film is Black Snow, by Martín Hodara, with Leonardo Sbaraglia, Ricardo Darín and Laia Costa.

DIEGO LÓPEZ

Head of development

Diego’s formal qualifications include: “Telecommunication Engineer Masters Degree” at University of Cantabria, “Masters in feature film and television scriptwriting” at Carlos III University and “Film and Television Production” at Madrid Film School (ECAM).

 

From 2008 he has developed his experience across many areas of production, from search and development of audiovisual projects, packaging, funding strategy and searching for potential co-producers, grants or other sources of funding in the production companies Mecanismo Films and Gloriamundi Producciones; in films such as Enemy (Denis Villeneuve, 2013); Treading Water (Analeine Cal y Mayor, 2013); La isla interior (Félix Sabroso and Dunia Ayaso, 2009); Born Naked (Andrea Esteban, 2012) or Vuelo IL8714 (Norberto López Amado, 2010).

Marta Hernández

Financial Director

With a master in Audit and Management Development at ICADE Business School, and a BS including courses at the Baltic Business School (Sweden), she worked for Deloitte, an international brand providing audit and financial advice.

 

Then, she started working at Bossi’s film company Gloriamundi, and now she continues collaborating in his new enterprise, Tandem Films, leading all financial-related matters.

Adriana Pujol

Production coordinator

She holds a double BA degree in Audiovisual Communication & Journalism from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, in Madrid. She started her professional career with an internship at Ethic -a monthly magazine on global sustainability and environmental protection- to end up on her last year at a local TV Production company.

 

In 2015, while getting her Master Degree in Film and TV Production at Universidad Carlos III, she gets in contact with Cristina Zumárraga and starts helping her as Junior Executive Production Assistant in Tormenta Films.

 

Further she works as Junior Production Assistant at Thi Mai (Patricia Ferreira) then being promoted into Production Assistant and Production Coordinator at Tandem Films.

ALMA GIMENA BLANCO

Production coordinator

She studied Cinematographic Production at the Cinematography School ENERC in Argentina. She began her professional career working as a content production assistant at the animation production company Tronco S.R.L. She produced the short films El Desencanto (2013), De Blanco (2014), Abeja Reina (2015), Los cuerpos flotantes (2015) and the medium-length documentary Bella Obsession (2014).

 

In 2015 she worked as the administrator producer of the films Operación México, un pacto de amor, and in the winner of the Goya for the Best Ibero-American Film El ciudadano ilustre, to join later the production team of Aleph Cine S.A.

 

In 2017 she was selected to perform an academic exchange of film production at the Cinematography School ECAM in Madrid, Spain.

 

Thanks to this exchange, in 2018 she joined the production department of Tandem Films S.L.

Sonia de la Paz

Accountant

She studied administration and finance beginning her professional career in an accounting agency. For five years she was trained in accounting and business management, advising in this field and working with a large group of clients, with very diverse business models in the field of SMEs.

 

In 2018, she made a shift to her professional career joining Tandem Films as the company’s accountant.
